Where it began

Milan, 2017.

SastaKhana started in a restaurant kitchen in Italy. Between 2017 and 2019, our founder Usman Qureshi worked as a restaurant partner in Milan, watching quality food go unsold every single evening.

Not because it was bad food. Because there was no way to tell the people nearby that it existed, was fresh, and could be theirs at a fair price before closing time. That gap stuck with him.

Years later, working in Germany, he watched the same thing happen across Pakistan at scale. Islamabad's best bakeries throwing away trays of croissants. Cafes pouring away fresh coffee blends. Restaurants clearing tables no one sat at. Hundreds of thousands of rupees disappearing every evening across a single city.

SastaKhana is the system that should have existed — a real-time marketplace connecting Islamabad's food businesses with the customers who are already nearby. Built from Germany. Launching in Islamabad. Built to grow across Pakistan.

Home chefs join at launch alongside restaurants, bakeries and cafes. Supermarket and grocery partners follow in Phase 2.
